New Music Friday: Hard Times and White Lines by Whitey Morgan

There is a lot of new music out this week, but I gotta go with the guy with the my-dad-in-the-70s hair and beard and the New Outlaw sound.

Out tomorrow: Hard Times and White Lines by Whitey Morgan.

Whitey Morgan and the 78s also continue the dismantling of that last bit of my blog title.  Indie country music isn’t just something you do in Texas anymore (it’s always been that way, but the Texas-everywhere else balance used to be much more lopsided).  Whitey Morgan and the 78s are up here in the Rust Belt with me, based in Flint.

Check out Honky Tonk Hell from the new album.

You can order Hard Times and White Lines from Amazon today and have it tomorrow!

Southern Ground Sessions (EP) by Blackberry Smoke, Martha Spencer by Martha Spencer, Jumping Over Rocks by Jamie Lin Wilson, and New Freedom Blues by Town Mountain also come out tomorrow (the Southern Ground Sessions EP is already available on mp3).

More upcoming releases:

Interstate Gospel by Pistol Annies – November 2

Christmas Everywhere by Rodney Crowell – November 2

Shine On by Dan Conn – November 30

Old News by The Steel Woods – January 18
