Music Monday: Bluegrass Edition

As the pandemic ever so slowly begins to recede, we could all stand to move into 2021 with a renewed commitment to the things we hold most dear. Less a New Normal than an Old Normal.

Let’s start with a little traditional music.

It doesn’t get much more bluegrass than Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. Their theme song for the Beverly Hillbillies was a very early introduction for me to this aspect of my cultural heritage. And of course Foggy Mountain Breakdown is iconic.

Are people still making music that good? Yes, yes they are. Before he saved country music, Chris Stapleton was saving bluegrass singing for The SteelDrivers.

Music Monday is the brainchild of Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek.
